V. Sanjeev, Violinist, born on 3rd December, 1978, in India was inculcated into music at an early age and was brought up in a very musical background. He was a prodigy as he was able to translate songs into swaras even at the age of three. He inherited the essence of Carnatic music from his versatile mother, Smt. Brinda Venkataramanan, a disciple of Tanjore Shri S. Kalyanaraman.
His early tutelage of violin was under Alandur Sri Nataraja Iyer and he continued learning violin from Kalaimamani Kum. A. Kanyakumari. She is a dedicated teacher and has given high-level training to Sanjeev meticulously. Observing his talent, she was determined to put him on stage in 1992.
Having given his debut concert in 1994, in 1998, Sanjeev started his musical career as accompanying violinist. He gained considerable reputation in his early youth as an accompanist to many eminent vocalists in carnatic music and has over 700 concerts to his credit within India and abroad.
He is a Software engineer with a B.E. (Computer Science) and an M.S. (Information Systems). He holds a senior position in a leading software company.
Sanjeev, has in recent years stood out as one of the most talented artistes of his generation. He gives performances in the most prestigious halls and travels extensively on concert tours.
As far as accolades and accomplishments are concerned, he has won several competitions like first prize of the AIR Violin Competition, Awardee of Fellowship from Ministry of HRD, Government of India, "A" Grade Artiste of AIR, Best Violinist and Best Accompanist Award from Music Academy for several years, recipient of Yuva Kala Bharathi from Bharat Kalachar, Best Performer at Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha and so on.
Sanjeev has released a few instrumental violin Albums - "Sunaadha Manjari", "Dancing Melodies" with his Guru, "Kamala Charane" and "Madhuradhwani". In addition, he has been equally in demand as a soloist, an accompanist and recording artiste for other vocalists also.
